Woman Suffers Major Injuries in Highway 37 Crash in Vallejo: CHP

Two girls also taken to hospital after vehicle they were in struck a concrete wall on the right shoulder of the highway

A woman driver suffered major injuries, and two girls also were hurt Wednesday evening when the vehicle they were in went off the roadway on Highway 37 in Vallejo, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency crews responded to the accident about 6:45 p.m. on westbound Highway 37 just before the Sonoma Boulevard exit, the CHP said. The woman, 31-year-old Danielle McGill, of Santa Rosa, was airlifted from the scene to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The two girls were hospitalized with minor injuries, the CHP said.

Investigators said McGill's vehicle, a 2008 Toyota Scion XB, made an unsafe turning movement and struck a concrete wall on the right shoulder of the highway. McGill had to be extricated from the vehicle.

All westbound lanes of the highway were shut down about 7:15 p.m. A SIG alert was lifted a little after 9 p.m., and all lanes were reopened.
