Wednesday is the second and last day of a toy drive for East Bay children and children affected by the fire that burned Paradise, organizers said.
From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., donations from the public will be taken at the office of the Service Employees International Union Local 1021 at 100 Oak St. in Oakland. The union is organizing the drive.
"As workers at public agencies, local nonprofits, schools and more, we see the needs of so many families at this time," SEIU 1021 member Angel Valdez said in a statement. "We wanted to get together and bring them some holiday cheer."
Valdez works at La Clinica de La Raza, a healthcare provider in Oakland.
