Levi's Stadium: Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

For the most part, Levi’s Stadium rules will conform to standard NFL policies when it comes to what fans are allowed to bring inside.

Before last season, the league implemented a policy that limits the size and type of bags allowed into NFL stadiums. The NFL strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bags, but fans are permitted to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container at stadium plaza areas, stadium gates, or when approaching queue lines of fans awaiting entry into the stadium:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags will be available at the stadium or at nflshop.com/allclear), or
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
  • Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Limited tailgating is allowed, but no beer kegs, loud music or sports activities (i.e. tossing a football around) will be allowed.

The San Jose Earthquakes put together their own web page to help out fans headed to this weekend's first sporting event at Levi's Stadium, a Major League Soccer matchup between the Quakes and the Seattle Sounders FC.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority has also setup a hotline to help fans lay out a personalized trip plan: (408) 321-2300.

The 49ers have put together a number of videos to help out those driving to the stadium for the first time. The first explains the traffic flow situation.

Other videos educate ticket holders on where to park and how to get around the new facility.

The City of Santa Clara is also making live traffic cams available around Levi's Stadium.
