A 19-year-old San Jose man is being held on suspicion of murder after police say he intentionally hit and killed a 46-year-old woman with his car.
Police arrested Richard Delgado after witnesses said that he drove onto a neighbor's lawn and hit the woman, killing her.
Neighbors say the automotive violence was sparked after Delgado became involved in an altercation with neighbors after he crashed into a fence around 11 p.m. Monday.
A police spokesman says Delgado had a reputation as someone who often drove recklessly and in excessive speeds through the San Jose neighborhood.
Police say after hitting the woman, Delgado was arrested by officers responding to the incident.
The name of the victim has not been released.
