A man shot and killed last Thursday during a two-hour standoff with police has been identified as Michael Nehez, according to the Sunnyvale Police Department.
Nehez, 68, called police that morning and told dispatcher that he had killed someone. The call set off a police response to the home near Coachella and San Pedro avenues.
A SWAT team was called to the scene when Nehez would not come out of the house. The tense standoff ended when police said Nehez "charged" at officers. A team of SWAT officers returned fire, killing the suspect.
A woman's body was discovered at the home during the investigation and officials have yet to release her identity.
