Snow Coming to SF Civic Center

Snow days on Saturday and Sunday for SF holiday celebration.

It's a snow-in in San Francisco this weekend -- and not the kind you're thinking of.

Mayor Ed Lee predicted a 100 percent chance of snow -- albeit fake snow -- at Civic Center as he hosts holiday celebrations, according to the San Francisco Appeal online newspaper.

Civic Center will play host to a children's snow park this weekend from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, while the mayor will preside over a City Hall open house on Sunday, part of the San Francisco Season of Giving campaign, according to reports.

The august halls of government will be open to the public between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. Lee and his wife will be available of pictures, and, presumably, nuggets of public policy.

All the public is asked for in return is far less than two front teeth: nonperishable food items can be donated to the San Francisco Food Bank at City Hall, and cash donations can be made to nonprofits.

No yellow snow is expected.
