Robber Attacks Woman In Downtown Palo Alto

Police release a sketch of the suspect.

Palo Alto Police are looking for a man who attacked and robbed a woman in Downtown Palo Alto Saturday night. 

The woman was walking alone in the 600 block of Webster Street around 6:00pm when the suspect grabbed her.  The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and pulled her backpack off her shoulders.  He fled on foot and was last seen running down Forest Ave.

Police searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect. 

The robber is described as a black male in his early forties, about 5' 10" tall and weighs 160 pounds.  He is bald, clean-shaven and wore a quilted "puffy" black jacket and blue jeans.

Palo Alto Police are asking anyone with any information to call them. 

There have been a series of robberies in Palo Alto in the past weeks.  Police have stepped up extra patrols of the downtown area in wake of those robberies.
