As of Oct. 6, Caltrain will no longer lend its service to and from San Francisco on the weekends as it will begin electrification work in four tunnels between Bayshore Station and 4th and King Station.
According to its website, free bus service will be available for Caltrain riders from Bayshore Station to 22nd Street and San Francisco stations during regular weekend Caltrain service.
Buses are accessible to people with disabilities, but will have limited onboard space for luggage and bicycles, according to Caltrain officials.
Regular service will be restored for the weekend of Jan. 5 and 6 to accommodate people traveling to events related to the 2019 College Football National Championship game at Levi's Stadium Jan. 7.
Each week, construction will be completed before the Monday morning rush hour.
Riders are advised to plan for additional travel time until regular weekend rides to and from San Francisco return by late spring 2019.
More details about the closures can be found here.
