San Jose Teacher Arrested on Suspicion of Possessing Child Porn

A San Jose teacher has been arrested on suspicion of possessing at least 2,000 images of child pornography.

Police said Brian Westfall was arrested on Aug. 22 after investigators served a search warrant at his San Jose home and found child pornography.

Westfall, 39, has been employed as a substitute teacher in the Oak Grove Elementary School District since 2006, police said. He also was employed with the YMCA at Simonds Elementary from 1994 to 2004.

Detectives interviewed students at the Oak Grove district who had contact with Westfall as a precaution. The investigation found that were no unreported incidents of lewd or inappropriate conduct, police said.

Police are also reaching out to the YMCA program Westfall previously worked at for any other possible illegal activity he may have committed.
