A 32-year-old Santa Rosa man will be booked in Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of arson and homicide after detectives say he started a fire in his family's home that ended up killing his mother.
The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat reports firefighters went to the call Sunday and found the man, Ian Stamp, and his father outside, but the 66-year-old mother, Elizabeth Stamp, was trapped.
Firefighters found the victim's body near a bathroom in the back of the residence.
Detectives say evidence of a flammable substance in the area of the suspect's bedroom indicates he might have started the blaze.
