SJ Jazz Festival Starts This Weekend

Jazz enthusiasts will be heading to downtown San Jose Friday night for the start of the annual San Jose Jazz Summer Festival.

Friday evening's performances begin at 5 p.m. at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park with many different stages to hear artists at the 22nd annual festival, organizers said.

Events include swing dancing, a performance from a Facebook contest winner and late night music by Millenium Sounds Orchestra at 11 p.m.

As part of the festival, which runs through Sunday, top Silicon Valley executives will make some music with festival artists at the annual CEO jam session at Club Regent at the Fairmont Hotel at 170 S. Market St. at 9 p.m.
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will have light-rail trains and buses running, and Caltrain trains into the San Jose Diridon station can connect riders to VTA vehicles to get attendees to the festival without a car.
