A 20-year-old man who fled during a California Highway Patrol traffic stop and jumped into the water near AT&T Park in San Francisco surrendered to police late Thursday.

Police said a motorcyclist was stopped by CHP officers in the area of 4th and King streets. For unknown reasons, the man ran from CHP and jumped into the water, police said.

The suspect, identified by police as Noah Aisha of Daly City, climbed onto a pier and surrendered at 7 p.m. after a San Francisco Police Department crisis negotiator spoke to him. Aisha was transported to a hospital for a medical evaluation, police said.

Aisha, who police said was unlicensed, faces multiple charges, including passing on the shoulder, hit and run and evading on foot. Police also said there was a warrant out for his arrest.
