Teachers have it bad in San Francisco.
Homes in the city by the Bay are unaffordable for teachers -- as in all homes are out of reach for educators, according to Businessweek.com.
A home priced at about $220,000 is affordable for a teacher, according to Redfin. But homes in San Francisco cost much more than that.
In fact, only 17 percent of all homes statewide are within reach for folks who teach, the website reported.
San Francisco teachers' pay has declined slightly as the city's real estate market has heated up beyond belief: teachers take home under $70,000 a year, Businessweek.com reported, and homes cost about $850,000.
