Woman Severely Burned in Vallejo House Fire Succumbs to Her Injuries

A 45-year-old woman severely burned in a Vallejo house fire allegedly set by her husband succumbed to her injuries, authorities said late Thursday.

Lametricias Seiflood died Wednesday while being treated at a Sacramento area hospital for her burn injuries. Her 5-year-old son died in the May 22 fire.

After the deadly blaze, the Solano County District Attorney's Office charged Darrylone Shuemake Sr. with the murder of his son and the attempted murder of his wife. Shuemake Sr., 53, is also charged with felony arson.

The charging documents show that the father has at least 14 known name spellings and aliases, including Darryl Barnett and Kevin Shumake.

Investigators said Shuemake Sr. poured gasoline on the mother of his 5-year-old son and set her on fire as the boy slept in bed nearby. The boy was killed as the fire quickly spread throughout the Vallejo home.
