Brazilian Presidential Candidate Eduardo Campos Dies in Plane Crash

A plane carrying a candidate for the Brazilian presidential elections crashed Wednesday morning in the coastal city of Santos. The country's Ministry of Aeronautics confirmed to NBC News that Eduardo Campos, the leader of the Brazilian Socialist Party, was one of seven people killed in the crash. The private jet had been traveling from Rio de Janeiro's domestic airport to Guaruja airport, according to authorities. Air traffic control lost contact with the small jet as it was preparing to land in bad weather.
