Fisherman Catches Rare Goblin Shark in Florida

A shrimp captain made a rare — and fearsome — find off the coast of Florida last month when he nabbed a goblin shark, NBC News reported. The prehistoric-looking fish is seldom seen by humans because it normally inhabits waters hundreds of feet below the ocean surface. The fisherman snapped a few photos of the fish and then set it free before reporting it to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which is building a database of goblin shark sightings.
