"Jem and the Holograms" is ready for a makeover.
The first trailer for the highly-anticipated movie is finally here and it's a lot more outrageous than the 1980s cartoon series.
Starring Aubrey Peeples, the film tells the story of an introverted teen living with her aunt (Molly Ringwald), sister and foster siblings.
"I'm living the most unexceptional life," Peeples says in the teaser. "At some point, we wish we could just be someone else." Well, that opportunity could come sooner rather than later.
With a simple music video upload to YouTube, Peeples and her family girl group become an internet sensation.

The world's biggest record company signs the band and the sisters' sound and look is changed instantly.

"I can guarantee you that there's going to be a lot of pink. Nobody will be disappointed with the hair, makeup and the fashion," Peeples recently teased to E! News. "We had a lot of different performance looks, each one is truly outrageous. I look at pictures and I can't believe that's me. It's so weird."
While the group experiences some positives with their fresh styles–hits on the radio and autograph requests from countless fans aren't so bad–there are also some serious downsides.
Will the backstage drama and family fighting result in a break up or will they be able to make up? You have to watch the movie once it hits theatres in December 2015 to find out.
