Startup Set to Sell 3-D Printed Cars Next Year

An Arizona startup is set to shake up the automotive industry by selling the world's first drivable 3-D printed car beginning in 2016, NBC News reported. Local Motors said there will be two versions of the ReLoad Redacted car: The first is a low speed, battery-powered car, which will sell between $18,000 and $30,000. The second vehicle will be a full-speed version. "At Local Motors, we are hell-bent on revolutionizing manufacturing," said John B. Rogers, Jr., CEO and co-founder of Local Motors. "Car manufacturers have been stamping parts the same way for more than 100 years."
