The Raiders knew they needed to address their defense in the draft, and they continued to do that with their first two picks on Day 3.
But they went offense with their third pick of the fourth round.
With the No. 35 pick in the fourth round, the Raiders selected LSU tight end Foster Moreau.

Analysts say he's a natural route runner with solid hands, even if he wasn't used a ton in the Tigers' passing game. He's known for great character and leadership, fitting in with the rest of this Raiders draft class, and wore the prestigious No. 18 at LSU. He can get knocked back by powerful defensive linemen and needs to develop some as a blocker.
"Moreau was underutilized as a pass catcher at LSU, but he showed an ability to cleanly snap routes and adjust to the football when targeted, although he appeared limited after the catch," said Dane Brugler, NFL draft analyst for The Athletic. "While assignment sound as a blocker, he tends to lunge and has little margin of error. Overall, Moreau isn't overpowering and appears indecisive at times as a receiver, but he is a functional positional blocker with the athleticism and ball skills to be a steady downfield option, projecting as a low-ceiling, high-floor backup "Y" tight end."
Moreau had 52 catches for 629 yards and six touchdowns in his LSU career, though most of that production came in his final two seasons.
Projected role
The Raiders wanted a frontline receiving tight end, but didn't take one until late in the fourth round. He doesn't have huge receiving numbers, so it's tough to project him as a major force in the passing game. Darren Waller should have a great chance to carve a role there after signing with the Raiders late last season. Moreau said he wants to help in the run game and on special teams right away, but eventually, contribute as a receiver.
