A's Vs. Mariners Lineups: Jurickson Profar to Start in Left, Mark Canha Out

A's new second baseman Franklin Barreto hit a solo home run Friday night to tie the Mariners at one apiece. The team would go on to defeat Seattle, 5-2, with All-Star addition Liam Hendriks closing out the game on the mound.

April wasn't good to Barreto -- both he, and manager Bob Melvin know that. But he's off to a hot start since replacing Jurickson Profar at the middle infield position. The team hopes to continue the pace as they prepare for the second game of a three-game series at T-Mobile Park ahead of the All-Star break.

Chris Bassitt will start on the mound for the A's and comes off a solid start against the Angels. He held the team to just two runs across 5 2/3 frames, walking a sole batter. During his last outing against the M's, the 30-year-old allowed four runs over another 5 2/3 innings in the 9-2 loss on June 14.

Marco Gonzales will get starting responsibilities for Seattle on the other side of the ball. He fared well against the Green and Gold in that June 14th matchup when he allowed just one run. He also hosts a W against the A's on Opening Day in Tokyo.

But Saturday is a new day and the A's are on fire. Here are how the lineups look to take shape for A's-Mariners.

As a last minute change, Mark Canha was removed from the lineup and Profar will take over in right field.
