Former Raiders QB Carson Palmer Retires From NFL

After 15 seasons in the NFL, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is hanging up his shoulder pads.

The 38-year-old Palmer announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.

Drafted in the first-round by the Bengals in 2003, Palmer was traded to the Raiders in a stunning move during the 2011 season. The Raiders gave up a 2012 first-round pick and 2013 second-round pick for the then-32-year-old quarterback.

In 25 games over two seasons with the Raiders, Palmer threw for 6,771 yards, 35 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He never lived up to the price tag, as he was 8-16 in 24 starts with the Raiders.

Palmer leaves the league having thrown for 46,247 yards, 294 touchdowns and 187 interceptions.
