NBA Free Agency Rumors: Rockets Interested in Andre Iguodala If Buyout Occurs

With Jimmy Butler reportedly still working on the sign-and-trade that will send him to the Miami Heat, the Houston Rockets must move on the Plan B.

They have little salary-cap space and some chemistry issues, so where could Rockets general manager Daryl Morey look to bolster his roster? He might have to look no further than his rivals.

After the Warriors reportedly traded Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, ESPN's Tim MacMahon reported the Rockets would be interested in signing the 2015 NBA Finals MVP should Memphis buy out his contract.

That would be a hard pill for Warriors fans to swallow.

It's no coincidence that NBA titles followed Iguodala's arrival to the Warriors. While their decision to move on from the 35-year-old  was necessary in order for the team to get younger, Iguodala leaves the Warriors a Bay Area legend, a fan favorite and someone it would hurt to see suiting up with James Harden and Chris Paul.

If the Grizzlies do decide to cut Iguodala loose, there should be no shortage of suitors for the veteran swingman, including the Lakers, who are run by his old agent, Rob Pelinka.

The Rockets reportedly re-signed guard Austin Rivers, but adding Iguodala would give them some depth they lacked this past season.

For now, Iguodala is a member of the rebuilding Grizzlies, but that could quickly change.
