DeMarcus Cousins, Andre Iguodala Will Not Play for Warriors Vs Cavs

On Wednesday evening, we learned that the Warriors will rest Andrew Bogut and Shaun Livingston on Thursday night against the Lakers.

A couple of hours later, we found out some details about who won't be available when the Dubs host the Cavs on Friday night.

"Against Cleveland at home, we'll rest DeMarcus (Cousins) and Andre (Iguodala)," Steve Kerr announced Thursday night on KNBR 680. "DeMarcus, that's just been our approach all year -- no back-to-backs at all. I think he's perfectly capable of doing so, but it's just precautionary.

"And Shaun and Andre, we've been doing this for the past couple of years."

Golden State's final three regular season games are Friday against the Clippers, Tuesday at the Pelicans and Wednesday at the Grizzlies.

Now that the Warriors in prime position to secure the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, you should expect more players to succumb to "load management" down the stretch.

"We'll see what happens the last few games. We're obviously in great position but we haven't quite nailed down the one seed yet," the head coach added. "We want to take care of that. And assuming we've got that going into those last two games, we could rest some other players as well.

"We'll have to wait and see."

Based on what Kerr said, we know Cousins will sit at either New Orleans or Memphis. Remember, Boogie could have made his season debut against the Pelicans on Jan. 16 but chose not to because he didn't want to give the media a storyline.

Is he champing at the bit to face his former team this time around or will he bypass the Pels again?

Stay tuned.
