Shirtless Tongan is shirtless no more
You loved him in the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Rio. You loved him so much that he came back for the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. There was just one hiccup, he's not a winter athlete. So he learned to ski (about 5 minutes ago), and it was good enough for a 114th finish in cross-country skiing. He placed 114 out of a total of 119 competitors. And no, he didn't hit any trees!
It's raining Winnie the Pooh
It was impossible to miss after Yuzuru Hanyu's masterful figure skating short program: a sea of Winnie the Pooh stuffed animals raining down from the crowd onto the ice. It's something Hanyu is already quite accustomed to, and quite the chore for the youngsters tasked with having to clear the ice before the next skater!

Swiss Olympian Fabian Bösch had social media users asking, "How'd he do that?" Bösch posted this video to his Instagram account on Monday that immediately went viral. The caption: "After 20 years I still couldn't figure out how this thing works! Am I doing it right?"[[474009013, C]]

Slopestyle sensation
You're 17 years old. You're at the Olympics. And you just won a gold medal. Not a bad day for Red Gerard who took the first U.S. gold medal of the games in slopestyle. Oh yeah, and his Twitter mentions are blowing up.
Fun fact: Gerard never had a snowboarding coach until he was about 13 years old.
Wardrobe malfunction
Not something you see often, or at all really, in figure skating. (Although everyone remembers Tonya Harding's famous shoelace debacle.) But hats off to Yura Min and Alexander Gamelin of Korea who powered through their performance despite a tricky wardrobe malfunction with Min's outfit.

We've almost come to expect this in sports like baseball where an errant bat has been known to fly into the stands from time to time... but curling? Watch out for the brooms! At least those are a little more lightweight compared to your standard Louisville slugger.
