SAN FRANCISCO -- Tim Lincecum was the big draw, but he wasn't the only fan favorite who made a rare trip to Oracle Park to honor Bruce Bochy.
Marco Scutaro faded quietly into retirement after the 2014 season, but he returned to San Francisco for Sunday's festivities. While getting introduced with Angel Pagan, who also has not been seen since he retired, Scutaro brought out the perfect pose, the one he hit when the rain came in Game 7 of the 2012 NLCS.
Scutaro told NBC Sports Bay Area's Amy Gutierrez that he's "just living my other part of life" and spending more time with his kids. He was happy to come back to San Francisco to spend one final day with Bochy.
"I can't imagine how hard it is for him after so many years in the game, so many memories," Scutaro said. "Unfortunately nothing lasts forever, right? He's really blessed. He had a great career. I was just thinking about it. Three championships out of five years, it's going to be hard to beat that. You never know, you might spend another 50 years and not see one."
Scutaro's run in San Francisco was ended by a back injury, but he was a huge part of the middle title, coming over at the deadline in 2012 and hitting .362 for the Giants down the stretch. He was the NLCS MVP after picking up 14 hits in 28 at-bats.
"It seemed like everything clicked together," he said. "(Bochy) just gave me the confidence to play the way I played and he lets you go out there and do your best. We got that momentum and took it from there, and the rest is history."
