NFL Roster Cuts Tracker 2019: Raiders' Moves Before 53-man NFL Deadline

The Raiders have to trim their roster to 53 players by Saturday afternoon, with a flurry of transactions heading towards that deadline.

Some moves have already been made as the Silver and Black shift out of the exhibition campaign and into regular-season mode.

Here's a list of Raiders moves, which will be updated regularly as news breaks:

LB Brandon Marshall

The Raiders have released veteran linebacker Brandon Marshall, a surprise move that ends the Las Vegas native's dream of playing in his hometown. Marshall confirmed the cut on social media, saying he was able to get healthy while with the Raiders. He has battled knee issues since last season, but was seen as a starting outside linebacker in the base package.

The Raiders are going younger at that spot, leaving Vontaze Burfict and Tahir Whitehead to lead the group.

TE Luke Willson

The veteran tight end was released per NFL Network. That was expected, after Willson played the last two exhibition games despite starters and key role players being left out. Darren Waller, Foster Moreau and Derek Carrier will be the Raiders three tight ends.
