Phillies Vs. Giants Lineups: Jeff Samardzija to Repeat Power Over Bryce Harper

The Giants witnessed an instance of "oh, what could have been," when the team hosted the Phillies on Friday night. Bryce Harper went 2-for-4 with two home runs in the 9-6 loss.

The two loud shots muffled fans calling the 26-year-old six-time All-Star "overrated," as Philly snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Orange and Black will continue the series hosting the Phillies on Saturday with Jeff Samardzija taking the mound. He pitched on Monday and gave up one run over four frames against the Nationals. Across his career, the Shark is 3.-5 with a 7.33 ERA in 13 appearances against the Phillies.

And against Harper, he's very good if you're into batter vs. pitcher numbers. The Phillies slugger is just 3-for-19 against Samardzija, and those three hits are singles.

Vince Velasquez will get starting honors for the Phils and has been successful in his last three starts boasting a 2.04 ERA across them. He may not last long against the Giants, however. During one of his recent outings against the D-backs, he lasted seven innings which was the longest he had gone since July 22, 2018.

Here are how the lineups look to shape up as the Phillies host the Giants. You can follow the action on NBC Sports Bay Area or by downloading and streaming on the MyTeams app
