After getting off to a rocky start this season, the Giants are now playing some good baseball, winning three of their past four games. Tuesday night's win was a complete 8-3 victory that saw solid starting pitching and timely hitting.
Matt Cain continued his nice start to the season by giving up just two runs in six innings to improve to 2-0 this year. It's the fourth consecutive quality start by a Giants pitcher.
As for the hitting, much maligned Edgar Renteria was the hero. He hit a grand slam, and knocked in five runs total, while going 3-for-4 on the night. Travis Ishikawa also worked towards getting out of his slump by going 2-for-3, with two RBI.
With the win, the Giants improve 5-8 this season. Barry Zito looks to keep the momentum rolling Wednesday night when he faces Chris Young to wrap up the short two game series against San Diego.
