Saints Bring in Ronnie Lott Against 49ers

49er legend gives the Saints a pep talk on the eve of MNF at Candlestick

The San Francisco 49ers Faithful can't be happy to see how 49ers legend Ronnie Lott is getting ready for the "Monday Night Football." His former team is playing the New Orleans Saints at Candlestick. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer tweeted that Lott delivered a day-before-game pep talk to the New Orleans Saints as they prepared to face his former team.

Comcast Sportsnet confirmed it, reporting that Lott would "speak to the Saints at Candlestick Sunday afternoon, following the team's walk-through practice."

I'm never buying another Toyota from Ronnie Lott again.

Lott is a ten-time Pro Bowler and has four Superbowl rings.  He's remembered as one of the fiercest hitters the game has ever known. But Sunday's hit was especially painful to 49ers fans.

Consider also that reported that Jerry Rice delivered the pre-game pep talk to the Seattle Seahawks in the days prior to the Seattle's win over the 49ers. This is starting to become a thing.

Are these guys trying to get back at Singletary over some dirty hits from the former Chicago Bear in the 1980s or something?  Is there a cash payment at the end of the transaction?  We don't get it.

Ronnie Lott was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000, while Jerry Rice was inducted in this year's class.

Joe Kukura is a freelance writer who hopes Ronnie Lott's pre-game pep talks are every bit as sincere and convincing as his Michelin tire commercials.
