Source: Warriors' Damian Jones to Play Summer League in California Classic

Damian Jones has only played 49 games since the Warriors took the center with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. With Golden State's roster in flux, the big man needs more reps.

That's exactly what he will get this summer, too.

A source has told NBC Sports Bay Area's Logan Murdock that the Warriors will use Jones on their summer league team at the California Classic in Sacramento.

The California Classic will be held July 1, 2 and 3 at Golden 1 Center. It will feature four teams -- the Warriors, Kings, Lakers and Heat.

Jones, who turns 24 on June 30, played in 24 games last season for the Warriors. He started 22, averaging 5.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and one block over 17.1 minutes per game.

Jones began the season as the Warriors' starting center while DeMarcus rehabbed a torn Achilles. But he tore a left pectoral muscle in December and didn't return until Game 1 of the Western Conference finals

This upcoming season will be a big one for Jones, as he needs to stay healthy and prove he can be a reliable option for the Warriors in the present and the future.
