Before the Sharks play in a Game 7 of their own Wednesday, they will know who their next opponent would be.
The St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars will face off in a decisive Game 7 on Tuesday night in St. Louis at 5:00 p.m. PT. Dallas took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup playoff second-round series, but St. Louis stormed back with a thorough 4-1 win in Big D on Sunday.
Tuesday's winner will advance to play Wednesday's winner of Game 7 between the Sharks and Colorado Avalanche. If San Jose is able to advance, familiarity with either team will be hard to come by. The Sharks have not played the Stars since Dec. 13, 2018 -- a 3-2 win -- and last played the Blues in a 4-3 overtime win on March 9. A lot has changed since then, but the Sharks would likely be happy to see either opponent, as it means the team's season will continue into the Western Conference final.
