NBA free agency doesn't officially open until 9:01 p.m. PT on Sunday, June 30. And until that time, Kevin Durant isn't going to make a decision about his future.

The reigning two-time Finals MVP repeatedly told Marc Spears of The Undefeated that he is simply focused on trying to win a third straight NBA championship.

"Yo, just watch the game," he said after the Warriors' 121-104 Game 1 win over the Clippers. "Just focus on the game and stop nitpicking, because it is a beautiful game going on out there.

"What can I do right now? I can't sign a paper. I got to do the most important thing, and that is play. And that is what we should be focusing on."

Durant registered 23 points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal on Saturday night. With 4:41 left in the game, he picked up his second technical and was ejected.

In the playoffs, you get suspended for a game if you receive a seventh technical.

It makes perfect sense for Durant to still be unclear about where he will play next season. Although KD signed with the Warriors back in July 2016, he has since said that he wouldn't have joined the Dubs if Golden State won the 2016 title.

Is it possible that he is leaning in a specific direction? Of course. But he wants to see how the playoffs go and let the dust settle before figuring out his next move.

"If I already made a decision, it would take away from the team, what we're fighting for," Durant told The Undefeated. "Every play would be overshadowed by it. It is not necessary for me to make a decision right now. It would be bad to do that. It would take the focus off of what is important. I would never want to put my teammates in a messed-up position. I want to forget about it.

"But it is still putting everybody in messed-up positions where everybody wants to know all the time, everybody is speculating and everybody is trying to get in my head and what I think about it."

Ain't that the truth.

The good news is that we are now just 2.5 months away from getting answers.
