Evan Longoria started Monday's game against the Dodgers on the bench.
But he came through with the biggest hit of the game.
Trailing the Dodgers leading 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh, the Giants loaded the bases against Los Angeles' bullpen. Longoria came up to face Ross Stripling and roped a 2-1 sinker in the left field corner to clear the bases and give San Francisco a 3-2 lead.

Longoria picked up RBI No. 9, 10 and 11 on the season, and instantly sent a jolt of energy through Oracle Park.
The veteran third baseman, who had been three hits in his last 20 at-bats, pinch-hit for Pablo Sandoval an inning earlier.
