With Pachulia Out Again, Kerr Gives McGee First Start for Warriors

Warriors coach Steve Kerr announced prior to tipoff that JaVale McGee wil make his first start of the season Tuesday night at New Orleans.

The 7-foot center will start in place of Zaza Pachulia, who has missed the past two games with a contusion on his right wrist. Kevon Looney, at 6-foot-9, replaced the 7-foot Pachulia in those games.

Kerr’s decision to start McGee in this instance is directly related to the length of the Pelicans frontcourt. Center Alexis Ajinca is listed at 7-foot-2 and power forward Anthony Davis at 6-foot-10.
