Cops Helping Man Find His Stolen Pot

Thief takes off with 18 plants

Eighteen marijuana plants and growing equipment were stolen from a pot-grower's home in Petaluma on Friday and police are asking people with information to come forward.

The man, who police said grows pot for medicinal purposes, lives in the 900 block of Wood Sorrell Drive and received a call from a neighbor around 9 a.m., who told him the plants were in front of his house along with  a revolver-style handgun, police said.

The homeowner got home around 11:30 a.m., saw the front door had been forced open and all his equipment and plants were gone, police said.

The man waited until about 4:45 p.m. to call police because he was not sure what to do in terms of reporting the theft.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Officer Jason Jucutan with the Police Department at 707-781-1205.
