A Los Angeles judge has refused to remove prosecutors from the case of a fashion designer convicted of multiple sex charges after they were accused of sabotaging a jury misconduct probe.
Superior Court Judge David Wesley on Monday denied the motion by attorneys for Anand Jon Alexander, who sold his work at Wilkes Bashford in San Francisco.
Alexander's sister had told lawyers she had been contacted by a juror after the trial of her brother.
In an attempt to find out if there was any possible jury misconduct, a judge approved a meeting between the sister and the juror, but district attorney investigators intervened before the meeting.
Alexander was convicted in November of 14 felonies and two misdemeanors.
