Michelin Serves Up an Appetizer

The real winners of the Michelin Guide will not be announced until next week but like every main meal, there must be an appetizer.

The guide's 2011 Bib Gourmand picks, which is awarded to restaurants that serve two courses, desert and a glass of wine for no more than $40, was announced Tuesday.

The one downside of making the list, is that restaurants who make the cut know they will not be on next Tuesday's more prestigious list.

This year 74 restaurants made the cut, up from 62 last year. There are 20 first time honorees, which means some previous winners didn't make an encore appearance.

Inside Scoop notes that notables such as Bar Tartine, Cena Luna, Junnoon and Zazu were left off this year's list.

But the likes of SPQR and Bisro Ax made their debut. See the full list below.
