Target Opens a Store in San Francisco

Target apparently can't wait to get its upscale discount hands all over San Francisco— the chain that's likely destined for a space in the Metreon is running an outdoor pop-up store in Mint Plaza in two weekends, from Dec. 11 to 13.

The super-special Target event puts the city with only two others, New York and Washington, D.C., in the hallowed halls of urban outdoor Targets. It seems the retailer also considered the Ferry Building for its temporary store before ultimately going with the SoMa space. Mint Plaza's meant to "give our urban markets a little slice of Target." Slice indeed: the "Target-To-Go" will feature only 50 of their most popular items. Maybe they know that once the city gets a taste, there'll be no turning back.
