The Best Battle Scenes of “Breaking Dawn” Might Be on the Brazil Set

Imagine this: A gang battles with police during a standoff at a hotel where 35 people were taken hostage. It ends in a gunfight that leaves one dead and four police officers wounded.

There are no teeth marks.

No, that isn't a never-before-seen twist in the "Twilight" series. It's the real-life violence that took place in Rio de Janeiro recently that may cause filming of the last installment of the vampire franchise to be halted.

According to various internet reports, city officials are working to convince Summit Entertainment that Rio is safe for rolling. Meanwhile police are cautioning producers to rethink their schedule.

Production on "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" was slated to begin in the next few weeks.

So will Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner be diverted to a different exotic locale to tie up their teen drama? At stake is $1 million that would be pumped into the local economy.

Summit execs told Radaronline that they are planning (hoping) on keeping it in Brazil, even if it means moving it out of the violence-prone city. They are keeping their options open.

"The possibility of filming portions of [the film] in Brazil has always been under consideration and we are continuing to scout locations within the country."

Stay tuned. The film's expected release date is currently Nov. 16, 2012.
