Images of an alleged Google Maps app for iOS 6 emerged over the weekend, suggesting that Google is preparing an app for iPhone 5 users.
The blurry images were posted by developer Ben Guild on his blog, which reportedly shows an iPhone running a version of Google Maps. Guild called the new "super fast" app vector-based and said it could be used with a two-finger rotation.
Apple decided to dump Google Maps earlier that year and instead offered users Apple Maps, which was widely considered inaccurate
and not as versatile -- leading to chief executive Tim Cook apologizing for its shortcomings. Google also has reportedly been working on an iOS app.
There's no proof what Guild posted is true, at least not from Google, but it is likely that Google would attempt to sell an app for the iOS --- but will Apple allow the app in its App Store?
