F. Scott Fitzgerald. Mark Twain. Snooki.
That's right: To the list of published authors, we will very soon get to add the name of everyone's favorite handbag-hued, trash-talking, disorderly conducter, "Jersey Shore" reality star Snooki (aka Nicole Polizzi).
Publisher Simon and Schuster said today the reality starlet's first novel, with the working title "A Shore Thing," will be out in early 2011. The book is going to "revolve around a girl looking for love on the boardwalk (one full of big hair, dark tans, and fights galore)," according to a Simon and Schuster statement.
For her part, the young novelist said: "I'm pumped to announce to my fans a project that I've been working on for some time. This book will have you falling in love at the shore. It's 'A Shore Thing!'"
Which is pretty much what Papa Hemingway tweeted upon the release of his first novel, "The Torrents of Spring."
But really, Snooki's literary debut should not come as too much of a shock, as she has apparently spent time around books. "I’ll go to frickin’ Barnes & Nobles, get a coffee and just sit down and read,” she told Us Magazine. “No one would ever think that. We have different sides to us and people don’t see that.”
As Dorothy Parker might've put it: True dat.
