Blink-182, Las Vegas Club Dim The Lights For DJ AM
Tribute included photo montage soundtracked by Diddy's "I'll be Missing You"

Just a day after the discovery of DJ AM's body in New York City, the late musician's friends in Blink-182 took the stage at the Comcast Theater in Hartford, Conn., and honored their former colleague.
"We lost a really dear friend yesterday," guitarist Mark Hoppus told the crowd in footage available on YouTube as he began to tear up on Saturday night. "His name was Adam Goldstein, you probably know him as DJ AM.

"He was an innovator and he was a genius and he loved music more than any other person on this planet and above all, he was an amazing friend," Mark continued. "We're doing the best we can to get through tonight, but now we'd like to take down the lights and have a moment of silence for our friend Adam."
Earlier in the day, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker – who had collaborated with the late DJ and famously survived a fatal plane crash with him last September – took to his Twitter page to pay homage to the DJ.

"I'll never forget everything we've been thru and every time i play the drums i'll think of you. U were an amazing friend/DJ/human being," he Tweeted.
Blink-182 weren't the only ones to dim the lights for DJ AM, who was a mainstay in the club scene across the country. He frequently performed in Las Vegas, and on Friday, the Palms Resort Casino and Rain Nightclub – where he had been the resident DJ on Fridays – held a special tribute to him that included the darkening of letters in the club's neon sign, so only the A and M were left bright.
The night included a moment of silence for the DJ, as well as a photo montage soundtracked by Diddy's "I'll Be Missing You."

DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, was found dead in New York City on Friday. He was 36. Results from an autopsy conducted on Saturday are due in several weeks pending further tests, including toxicology.
