Family Confirms Missing Loved Ones Died in San Bruno Blast

A San Bruno family that had not heard from relatives since the explosion on Sept. 9 is confirming three members of their family died inside their home.

Gregory Bullis, 50, his 17-year-old son, William and Bullis' 80-year-old mother, Lavonne, have been missing since the explosion. On Thursday, the family released the following statement:

At the residence of 1690 Claremont, the remains of two male victims and one female victim were discovered. Though still awaiting final pending DNA results from the coroner's office, it is with heavy hearts that the Bullis family announces the passing of Lavonne, Greg and William Bullis.

The San Mateo Coroner's Office said it could take several weeks to determine if the remains are the missing Bullis family members.

A funeral is being held Friday for two other people killed in the blast -- Jacquelin Grieg and her 13-year-old daughter, Janessa. The school Janessa attended has canceled classes for the day so her friends can attend the service. Jacquelin's husband and son were not at home when the explosion happened.

Elizabeth Torres, 81, also died in the explosion and several of her family members suffered severe burns. Also killed in the accident was 20-year-old Jessica Morales, who was at home watching the football game with her boyfriend when the pipe ruptured.
