2 Found Dead Inside Sausalito Home After Shots Fired

Two people were found dead in a Sausalito home early Sunday morning under what police have deemed a suspicious circumstance, a police sergeant said.

Officers responded around 2:40 a.m. to a report of shots fired in the area of the 100 block of San Carlos Avenue, according to Sausalito police Sgt. Stacie Gregory.

Further investigation led officers to a home on the block, where they found two dead people inside, Gregory said.

The sergeant declined to say whether the victims died of gunshot wounds or whether the deaths are considered a murder, suicide or murder-suicide, saying the investigation is ongoing.

Police said the suspicious deaths are believed to be an isolated incident and there is no related threat to the public.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Sausalito police at (415) 289-4170.
