23-Year Old Killed is City's 29th Homicide of 2011

A shooting death in San Francisco's Ingleside neighborhood, reported Saturday morning, is the City's 29th homicide of the year.

Twenty-three-year old Karl Henderson was shot in the chest at 11:19 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Holloway and Brighton avenues in the Ingleside District. The San Francisco resident was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around noon, according to the San Francisco Appeal.

No arrests have been made, and no additional information is available, according to reports. Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call SFPD's anonymous tip lijne at 415-575-4444.

The City saw a recent spike in homicides in 2008, with 95 deaths-by-homicide reported in San Francisco that year. The homicide rate has since declined, with 45 homicides reported in 2009 and 50 in 2010.
