Firefighters in Campbell battled two blazes on Christmas morning: the first in an industrial area, and the second at the Courtyard Marriott.

The first was reported just before 5 a.m. in the 1600 block of Dell Avenue. The flames were so big, and that 60 firefighters were called in to help, including from Santa Clara County and San Jose, which meant that three alarms were called. The back of the business was destroyed. There was no immediate cause for what started the fire.

About three hours later, a fire alarm went off at the Courtyard Marriott, and about 60 guests were told to temporarily evacuate after the sprinkler system went off. There was no report of a fire.
