Asomugha Too Rich for Lions' Blood

Nnamdi Asomugha already crossed the Indianapolis Colts off of his list of potential places to play next season, now he can cross off another team.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Raiders' All-Pro defensive back will command a price too high to entice the Detroit Lions to acquire him.

Detroit had been seen as a potential landing spot for the veteran cornerback, who is expected to be one of the biggest free agents prizes once the NFL lockout is lifted.

Birkett believes that the Lions will not be willing to spend the $18 million a season that many believe will be required to land Asomugha, despite obvious needs at cornerback.
