She was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

A woman who may have driven one of the vehicles involved in the crash was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Based on a preliminary investigation, a SUV and large sedan were driving in opposite directions and crashed head-on, police said.

Both vehicles sustained major damage in the collision, according to police.

Five people from both vehicles were transported to hospitals for major injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, police said.

The identities of the woman and baby have not been released pending notification of their next of kin, according to police.
