Bakery Owned by French Laundry Chef Burns

Famous chef Thomas Keller -- the man behind the internationally-known French Laundry in Yountville, debatably the finest restaurant in California -- is no stranger to heat. But this is ridiculous.

A bakery owned by the famed foodie burned on Thursday morning, causing $100,000 in damage to the Bouchon Bakery, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Three employees were in the bakery at the time. Nobody was injured.

The 4:30 a.m. fire burned a 100 to 150 square foot section of the roof over an oven, according to the newspaper. In a statement posted on his Web site, Keller promised the bakery would reopen soon.
