There are first-borns, and then there are first-borns.

The first Bay Area baby was born this morning in Berkeley at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center's Alta Bates Campus. Labor and delivery nurse Alice Wojcik confirms the birth.

The baby girl was born at 12:07am. Her mother, Stephanie Hernandez, has not yet decided on a name for the little bundle.

The baby weighed 4 pounds, 5 ounces and was delivered by Dr. Kris Yogam. Yogam confirms the baby was -- and is -- in good health.
